CSIR-NIScPR, New Delhi, has been awarded the first prize under the medium category offices (empanelled under TOLIC) for the best performance in implementing Rajbhasha policies among institutions for the year 2018-2019. The award was given in the annual meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (North Delhi) held at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi, on 26 June 2019.

This was a proud moment for the institute as this was the fourth year in succession that CSIR-NIScPR received this award. During the last three years 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, the institute won the prizes under the same category.

Besides, Mr Amiya Bindu, Section Officer, CSIR-NIScPR, was also awarded the second prize of 3000/- and a shield in the picture illustration competition which was organised in January 2019 for TOLIC officers (North Delhi).

The awards were conferred by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), North Delhi, which have been constituted in various towns all through the nation for ensuring the progress of implementation of Hindi language. TOLIC (North Delhi) comprises 60 offices.

Dr Manoj Kumar Patairiya, Director, CSIR-NIScPR, was awarded the "Dr Hari Mohan Samman-2018" by the Bhartiya Hindi Parishad (Indian Hindi Council), Prayag, in its 44th Convention held at B.K. Birla College, Mumbai University on 7 December 2018. He received the award for excellence in promoting and communicating science through Hindi. The main aim of the Indian Hindi Council is to encourage study and research of all aspects of Hindi including literature, culture, etc. and to observe its progress in particular.

Dr Patairiya, who was the host of the 2010 PCST (Public Communication of Science and Technology) conference in New Delhi has also been honoured with the honorary life membership of the PCST network. PCST Network awards honorary life membership to individuals who make a distinguished contribution to the international science communication community.

CSIR-NIScPR (National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research), New Delhi, received the Green Petal Award 2018 for research excellence on 2 December 2018 by the Green Maple Foundation (GMF).

As part of its science dissemination mandate to a wide range of targeted audiences, CSIR-NIScPR publishes 18 research journals, three popular science magazines, scholarly and popular science books, monographs, etc. The Institute is also involved in skill development in areas such as science communication, library automation, database development, etc.

CSIR-NIScPR, New Delhi, has been awarded the second prize under the medium category offices (empanelled under TOLICs) for the best performance in implementing Rajbhasha policies among institutions for the year 2017-2018. The award was given in the annual meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (North Delhi) held at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi, on 22 June 2018.

This was a proud moment for the institute as this was the third year in succession that CSIR-NIScPR received this award. During the last two years 2015-16 and 2016-17, the institute won the first prize under the same category. Besides this, last year CSIR-NIScPR also bagged the first prize for Rajbhasha Patrika Sanchetna under the house magazine category.

This year, Nodal Officer from CSIR-NIScPR, Smt. Meenakshi Gaur, Senior Translator, has also been felicitated for coordination and contribution in the Coordination Committee of TOLICs.

The awards were conferred by the Town Official Language Implementation Committees (TOLICs), North Delhi, which have been constituted in various towns all through the nation for ensuring progress of implementation of Hindi language. TOLICs (North Delhi) comprise 56 offices.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Patairiya Receives "Ariviyal Kalanjiyam Award" (Treasure Trove of Science Communication Award)

Dr. Manoj Kumar Patairiya, Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), New Delhi has been awarded the "Ariviyal Kalanjiyam Award". Also called the "Treasure Trove of Science Communication Award", the award is in appreciation for his commendable research in Science, Technology, Global Initiatives for Sustainable Developments and Remarkable Services in Science Communication. He has been awarded for the Tamil version of his book "Ariviyal Ithazhial" (Science Journalism), the Foreword to which was written by the former Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology Dr. T. Ramasami.

The award instituted by the MTS Academy, Chennai and Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, was given away by Dr. M. Ponnavaiko, Vice President, MTS Academy and former Vice Chancellor, Bharatidhasan University and Dr. B. Chandrasekharan, Director, CSIR Central Leather Research Institute (CSIR-CLRI), Chennai.

Dr. Manoj Kumar Patairiya Receives Lifetime Achievement Award for Science Communication

Dr. Manoj Kumar Patairiya, Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), New Delhi was recently awarded by Uttar Pradesh Governor Shri Ram Naik for his Lifetime Achievement in Science Communication at the Marvellous Records’ Legends Summit, Lucknow held on 9 December 2017 at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

The programme was attended by a large number of people including Cabinet Ministers in the UP Government including Minister of Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Maternity, and Child Welfare and Tourism, Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi and Law Minister Shri Brajesh Pathak.

The Marvellous Records Book of India is published by the Aviral Foundation every year, in which outstanding performers from different regions across India and in different fields are profiled.
